New York Red Bulls draw 1-1 with Toronto FC

A night that featured a "Greatest Hits" of a New York Red Bulls team on the cusp of complete disaster was saved by a hero who is seemingly doing all he can to carry the underwhelming club on his back. New York played to a 1-1 draw with Toronto FC on Saturday. A full match... recap and score sheet can be found here. New York was out-hustled, out-played and even out-managed for roughly 80 minutes in Toronto, and absolutely deserved to lose before captain Thierry Henry saved the team's season (more on him later). Rafa Marquez apparently learned nothing from the very much so publicized suspension, as he casually jogged around the pitch until being subbed out in the 79th minute.

The Red Bulls showed an intensity following the Henry goal that we only see from the club when it's minutes away from a defeat. Why didn't New York turn things up the second Danny Koevermans was subbed out with 20 minutes remaining? Backe's inability to grasp the feel of contests continues to cost the Red Bulls points. When does Thierry Henry lose it and punch Rafa Marquez directly in the face? Sadly, this is only a half-joke.From an RBNY-only viewpoint, Saturday night's match in Toronto can be summarized in three words.
